Maryland PTA offers $500 minimum scholarships to high school seniors who are pursuing a career in education in the state of Maryland. There are no restrictions placed on the selection of the college or university. The application is due on April 13th. The PTA Council of Baltimore County offers scholarships to 2017 high school seniors in Baltimore County. There are no restrictions placed on the selection of the college or university. The following factors will be considered:

- Membership in a PTA in good standing
- Financial Need
- Academic Record
- Student Resume
- Essay

You can find the application at www.bcptacouncil.org It should be postmarked by March 31, 2017. The Scholarship Committee will make a decision in April.


SCHOOL COUNSELING – KURT M. CHENOWITH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

In memory of Kurt Chenowith, who was a volunteer at the Fallston Fire Company during his high school career and went on to become a career firefighter with the Baltimore County Fire Department, his family has established a $1,000 scholarship in his memory and is making this eligible to all Baltimore County high school students.
Students interested in this award must meet the following criteria:
 Have a minimum, unweighted Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0.
 Provide verification of enrollment to an accredited two- or four-year college or technical school.
 Complete the entire application and personally write the essay.
 Be a United States citizen.
 Include a brief reference form completed by a peer.
Applications are available on Naviance or by contacting the school counselor. Deadline for scholarship applications is Saturday, March 11, 2017.
